    Nudists burn mistake

An Australian nudist burnt his bum as he tried to kill a spider.

The 56-year-old man was pouring petrol into what he thought was the nest of a deadly funnel web spider.

But when he lit the match, the blast left him with burns over 18 percent of his body.

A helicopter ambulance crew attended the scene and said the man's state of undress probably contributed to the extent of the burns.

    'Wedgie' teacher arrested

A New York teacher has been arrested for giving one of his pupils a 'wedgie'.

Albany police have charged 41-year-old Mark Holley with endangering the welfare of the New Covenant Charter School student.

Police said Holley grabbed the 10-year-old child's underwear whilst he was in the bathroom.

The student's mother told the school after the incident last year, but the police were not notified until months later in January.

    Holy eBay shell

An American woman is selling a seashell resembling the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus on eBay - for $25,000.

Kathy Snow found the seashell last year while walking on the beach and says she saw the image immediately.

So far, she has nearly 70 watchers on the internet auction site - but no official bids.

A grilled cheese sandwich resembling Mary and the baby Jesus was previously sold on the site for $28,000.

    Kids advised to drink beer

A Belgian organisation has recommended schoolchildren drink beer instead of sweet fizzy drinks.

The Louvian Beer Therapists say ale would be healthier for children than pop, according to Belgium's De Telegraaf newspaper.

Spokeswoman An Frankie said she was given beer at school as a child and called for a return to the old ways.

She said: "A light alcoholic beer is far healthier than soft drinks which are often too sweet.

"Why don't schools put a bottle of light beer on the table anymore like they used to?"
